His past servant leadership
Ken had risen to District Fire Chief in the Georgetown County Fire Department by the age of 21 (the record will never be broken). He served as a member of multitple emergency service organizations during Hurricane Hugo and on, providing life saving protection to Georgetown, Horry, Charleston and Lexington Counties as well as mutual aid to many other counties of South Carolina.
He provided FREE firefighter training to the paid and volunteer firefighters as a South Carolina Fire Academy Certified Firefighter Instructor.
He trained under the US Air Force in Bomb Threat Management handling actual bomb threat calls in Georgetown County. He was also a SC certified Emergency Medical Technician in addition to being a High Angle & Confined Space Rescue instructor.
His past servant leadership
Ken has always served as a sheepdog. Given Ken's background in the fire service, he was immediately hired as safety manager by A&D Constructors for the construction of the Santee Cooper Quencher/Absorber build that scrubbed the Winyah Generating Station exhaust and fed byproducts to the new onsite sheetrock plant. His number one job in safety was the protection of the workers through training them and making sure safety measures and regulations were strictly practiced by the companies. This was crucial in such jobs and sites that have serious hazards and workers are surrounded by hazardous materials.
Ken went on to serve as a safety manager for Thompson Construction in the Progress Energy Urea Rotomix scrubber in Goldsboro, NC. He again witnessed and aided in the "cleaning up" of coal and the proof that our energy needs can be met with coal and oil while having basically ZERO pollution locally. He continued with the new division, Thompson Industrial Services, Southern District removing waste and learning how American industry was powered, manned and maintained. This provided him more experience in the productive sector of society not more government (unproductive) side of South Carolina jobs. Ken appreciates the heart and admires the skill & talent of the South Carolina construction and industrial workers, everyday men and women who take pride in their work and build our beautiful State.
His current servant leadership
For over 20 years, Ken served an ordained Christian minister. As such, he has worked with various Christian ministries documenting and sharing the Gospel of Jesus the Christ around the world through videos and conferences. He has preached that Gospel that all men are called to repentence from sin and surrender to God and can be forgiven and made new by the atonement made by Jesus the Christ, God Incarnate (when He died on the cross outside of Jerusalem having never sinned that men might be pardoned through His Sacrifice and have everlasting life with Him). Ken has preached on 2 continents and helped shepherd the lost in countries around the world, even the remotest of locations through the vast reach of the Internet in multiple languages. In that work, Ken has never sought fortune or fame and was relegated to very modest living to serve God and not worldly mammon.
His current servant leadership
For 20 years, Ken has been educating, empowering and activating people around America at the grassroots level to BE the government of the United States of America, their town, county and State governments. He has organized and trained hundreds of people especially in South Carolina. He began protesting DHEC failure to provide informed consent to parents in schools in 2009. He knew it took numbers to win and began organizing voters and parents. He worked as a founder, leader and trainer in the Tea Party Movement, then, in President Trump's Patriot Movement. All this culminated in his work over the last five years as an officer in the SC Republican Party. In the Republican Party, he drafted and sponsored the most resolutions ever passed by his party to enforce the SCGOP Platform on incumbents (including his county censure of Senator Lindsey Graham). As in his Gospel work, Ken has been unafraid to speak Truth to power and fight for justice and morality in government! You may have seen him removed by POLICE unlawfully from the 2024 SCGOP Convention for calling a Point of Order motion on the president who was violating Roberts Rules of Order.
An interesting fact about Ken: He has been working in the film and television industry since 1997. He has appeared in multiple television shows and over 4 feature films shot in the Carolinas and even one in Los Angeles, the original Spiderman. Ironically, his first job was The Patriot starring Mel Gibson where he performed basic stunt fighting and soldiering. He took part in every battle filmed except the the Yorktown surrender. After marching for miles and miles in summer heat and winter freezes, Ken developed the greatest appreciation for the sacrifices made by his ancestors who served with Francis Marion and all our ancestors who paid so great a price for our freedom and independence.
Ken went on to teach local actors how to get jobs in film and spent years working to bring more productions to South Carolina to create more jobs for our State. He enjoyed being principal talent in the film, The Bay, shot in his home town of Georgetown, SC.
